State of the project meeting 6/10

New Entrance Ground-breaking 5/19
The ground breaking for the new stadium entrance, which includes a flag court, brick campaign bricks and recognition walls, took place on 5/19.  Progress will move quickly over the next several weeks and be complete well before the Fall Sports Season.

Car Raffle Drawing Held 11/13
Thanks again to Joyce Buick and all tickets holders for helping make this raffle a success.  The drawing was held during the Fall Sports Banquet and the winners notified.

Turf Installation Begins - 8/10
Installation of the carpet has begun, signaling that play could begin on the new field in as few as 3 weeks.

Ground Breaking - 6/7
The Bay Village City Schools voted to go ahead with the new turf field part of the project based on fund rasing efforts to date. Ground was broken on 6/7 and the push is on for an early September completion date.

Information Meeting - 4/19
There will be a public information meeting to answer questions about the project, held in the Bay High School Cafeteria at 7:30pm to 8:30pm, on April 19, 2007.  The meeting is hosted by the Rockets Renovation Committee, the Bay Rockets Association, Bay High Principal - Jim Cahoon, and Superintendent of Schools - Clint Keener.

Jack Llewellyn Field?
There is a movement underway to have the stadium game field named after former Bay High Football Coach, Jack Llewellyn.  If you are interested in helping to make "Jack Llewellyn Field" become a reality, please contact Gary Heldt (BHS Class of '73) at 440-617-9758.

Mid-MAY start date anticipated
If sufficient funds are raised in time to commit resources to a mid-May start - ordering the turf - with field work beginning in June, then the new turf field would be ready for the Fall 2007 sports season.
